Break the Day into Beautiful Pieces

This is my very-first post ever and I thought why not write about things that make me happy, that make most of us happy!

When we are feeling tired or life seems predictable, it is a good idea to sit back and think of what we can do to cheer up and live life to the fullest. A long day at work or school is enough to make us desire just the cozy company of our couch. But there is so much more to do, to see, to enjoy; we often forget to pay attention to little things; these little tiny tiny things, however, can brighten up our day and upset the waters of lake "routine."

So every time I jump into my bed and prepare to get rid of all the daily fatigue and the stress, I try to name one little thing during the day that made all the difference.

If you are feeling down, stressed or just bored why not give these a try? Of course, everyone's preferences are unique and different people enjoy different things. Here's a list of what I prefer doing to make myself happy:

  1. Get a facial and relax, stretch out on your couch and let your mind clear up for a moment from all the worries and responsibilities.
  2. Listen to songs that make you happy while getting ready.
  3. Go shopping; get that one little thing that you saw and instantly desired.
  4. Drink a cup of hot chocolate.
  5. Go out for a walk at dusk and enjoy the nighty breeze.
  6. Get out in the sun; The sunlight helps to lighten our mood and can help us fight against depressive feelings.
  7. Read a good book; Books are worlds of their own and can really transfer us to magical places. A good book is a vaccine against sadness.
  8. Have a little workout, dance and stretch up, it will boost your energy.
  9. Choose healthy foods to avoid this guilty feeling we all every so often feel after devouring chocolate and sweets. A fruit-salad perhaps!
  10. Wear a bold lip and show your confidence to the world.
  11. Show love to those around you and make compliments; you instantly brighten the day of someone else.
  12. Have a little pampering session before you go to bed. Put some foot cream on, give your feet a massage to boost circulation and have better dreams!

I often hurry down the street to catch the bus and be on time, and I forget to look at the sky and see a beautiful deep blue or to take notice of birds singing nearby. I might hear their song but I don't allow myself a moment to appreciate it. The daily routine and our busy lives can be an obstacle to the momentary beauty of life. After all, if life is moments packed-up why not make a splendid package!
